andydye Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I saw this Spector Legend 4 on the website of a local guitar shop and spotted that it also had a drop tuner, 2 things that made me want to try it, turns out, despite being relatively inexpensive, it plays well, sounds well, I brought it home with me... Apart from needing new strings (on order from Newtone) and the strap lock things removing (d'addario?!) it also needs a k'nob, there are 3 original ones and an interloper, so, I wondered whether anyone had a suitable k'nob hanging around or knew where I could source a genuine Spector one? ...help, advice please? 1 Quote
Bassassin Posted March 19 Posted March 19 They do just look like generic cheap push-on kernobbs. Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) That's not a Legend - it's a Q4 Pro. Killer basses! Edited March 19 by Cosmo Valdemar 1 Quote

velvetkevorkian Posted March 20 Posted March 20 A forerunner of the Legend line from the early 2000s iirc? I do have a Legend 6 awaiting a preamp swap which will necessitate replacing the knobs, at which point I would have some spare Spector ones, but it's been waiting on that for months now so I wouldn't like to promise anything 😬 1 Quote

I bow to your knowledge, from the searches I've been doing today the Q4 didn't have the characteristic Spector carved back, this bass also doesn't have the carved back. ...and, it isn't black, or the blue in the flash pics in the op, it looks very much a forest green in daylight. It IS killer, sounds and plays fantastic, I want to try more Spector basses now!! Edited March 20 by andydye 1 Quote

I adored it but eventually the slim neck became a bit uncomfortable for me. They're definitely a gateway drug though - I've now owned 12 of them. Not quite at @cetera's level yet though 😆 1 Quote
