solo4652 Posted Thursday at 11:24 Posted Thursday at 11:24 I've been told that my neck/arm/hand problems are due to Cubital Tunnel syndrome which may or may not have been exacerbated by playing bass. Cubital Tunnel Syndrome is similar to Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but affects nerves at the elbow rather than the wrist/hand. Anybody else struggling with this? Quote
Count Bassy Posted Thursday at 20:39 Posted Thursday at 20:39 I've never had it diagnosed, but I suspect that I have this. Mainly if I've been doing a lot of DIY sort of stuff. never had it after playing bass though. Quote
itu Posted Thursday at 21:13 Posted Thursday at 21:13 Go to a chiropractic/masseuse that knows hands. I had strange issues with my right hand years ago. I was leaning my right hand against the bass and it affected the circulation. I was told my hand was mostly lactic acid. After lots of massaging, my right hand started to work well. If that does not work, meet a hand specialist. Tunnel may need some reworking. Quote
ezbass Posted Thursday at 21:19 Posted Thursday at 21:19 Playing a gig aggravates my tennis elbow. However, having tissue work from an osteopath and wearing KT tape means it’s slowly getting better. Quote
Count Bassy Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) I was suprised whan I found out peoples nerves don't always follow the same route. In the situation we are talking about here that nerve sometimes goes round on the outside of the elbow, and in other people can go on the inside of the elbow. Edited 8 hours ago by Count Bassy Quote
