Replacement Split P-Bass Pickup Wiring - Slightly Different, How to wire up?

I am putting some GM Thumpers in my new Squier Sonic P-Bass

I was just going to solder like wires for like but the wiring of the new Pups is slightly different (see photo)

White instead of yellow, but mostly its the wires to solder come out of top not bottom of respective pups

I am guessing its just a matter of symmetry (out of phase still?) and it will just be black to where black was and white to where white was?

Also, which pup in photo goes neck end and which bridge end?

 

EDIT: I think that I should just solder the white where the yellow was and the black where the black was, and put the pup with the white wire at the neck?

Yup, crack on.  Path of least resistance and all that.  You don't need to worry about phase etc - the two parts of a P bass pickup are wired in series (as in sequentially) and it's a single pickup bass so there's no other pickup to fight with.  So just install the pickup the way it wants to be installed, take the two wires and wire it to the volume pot as before (black > earth/ground, white > hot).

I noticed that if I touch the poles of the top/neck side split pickup it buzzes, more so when my finger not also grounding onto a string
Bottom/bridge side split pickup does not
Any ideas, please?
I dont think my wiring is wrong (both were already wired together when I got them), and I am used to soldering
I seem to remember seeing that this meant that poles were not grounded?
But not sure it makes sense why one split is OK, other not

Correct.  Just been through this rigmarole with a bass with chrome covers on the pickups - they would buzz every time I touch the covers.  Had to ground the covers.  No idea why one side of your pickup is OK, so belt and braces, do both sides.  I would use shielding copper foil (or slug tape) to put a strip across the bottom of the pole pieces, then make sure that's grounded.  That should make the buzz, buzz off
