Blockheads on BBC 4 the other night and hes playing an Alembic? Who would have thght... looked kinda weird and didnt sound like an Alembic, sounded like, well, the greart man himself which I guess was to be expected.

Indeed - it's a convention on an email list I'm on, if a subject is just a name then the owner of that name has popped off. I expect to see a thread entitled "Tony Hart" any day now.

I saw him playing with Wilko Johnson quite a few times in the 80s and he always played his Alembic then.

I gigged as a support act for Wilko and Norman played his Fender Jazz then (through my Hiwatt rig, which he seemed to enjoy!)

He played an Alembic Series I around the rhythm stick era, and I believe it was that same Series I sampled for Relax by FGTH

Based on the amount of smoke backstage last time I saw NWR with Wilko he might be too stoned to actually die. Still played like a bastard though.

Yeah, watch any of that old footage of The Blockheads live, and NWR always had well red eyes.
