It was quite hard work, especially to plane the ebony top and back to the right thickness.(sharpening my plane every 15 minutes...) but it was all worth it. I'm very satisfied with the endresult! 😀 2 Quote

I coundn't get a bigger compliment from the master!! Congratulations @RonC, what an amazing work! Say hello, from Tony, to Axl who came home, in June 2022, in the South of Belgium to buy my Takamine TB10: he is a great player and a great person. 😉 What a small world. 🙂 1 Quote
Bassybert Posted March 27 Posted March 27 This is a fantastic thread, very inspiring well done @RonC, the quality of work is beautiful and that finished bass looks incredible. Were you constantly using your other Wal basses for reference? There is something about the Wal shape I really love, I wonder if there’s a set of plans out there somewhere 😊 Quote

But with a good teacher, patience and trust almost anyone can get there (unless you have two left hands of course.. ) Thank you! 1 Quote

Because i also wanted the look of the Wal PU's, Chrtis Turner made me a set with a plain surface. Quote

Thats should be an amazing bass too. He's indeed a very kind person. Around 2020 he bought an Ibanez Musician MC900 from me, he came to visit and we had a great chat! he can talk for hours about his bass and guitar collection and his opinion on basses. Great to hear all his anekdotes from his musical life. And indeed a great player! a small world it is! Thanks for the compliments!! 1 Quote

I have PDF's of it so i'm happy to share it with you if you like. (just send me a PM) Thanks! 2 Quote
