Pushing and pulling

Hi everyone, 

 

Just wondered what approaches you have when the tempo starts to drag unexpectedly. 

 

We currently have one or two songs in our ska band that occasionally slip. I try to push the beat with a hope to pick it back up to tempo, but this can mess with the feel. 

 

What do you do?

Stare at the drummer.......

I say to the drummer (always the same guy) "you're slowing down" (or speeding up).
