Rollin Thunder Posted Monday at 13:42 Posted Monday at 13:42 (edited) Some serious bass tone here, honest its all about that tone. (No sarcasm at all) https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18w6t47Liy/?mibextid=wwXIfr Edited Monday at 13:42 by Rollin Thunder Quote
Hellzero Posted Monday at 14:08 Posted Monday at 14:08 Are you really sure it's only about the tone? Quote

BigRedX Posted Monday at 15:09 Posted Monday at 15:09 All about context. That tone wouldn't suit any of the music I want to play. 1 1 Quote
neepheid Posted Monday at 16:56 Posted Monday at 16:56 It's a no from me, I'm really not very keen on that burpy tone, as well as it might be played. Quote
SteveXFR Posted Monday at 19:31 Posted Monday at 19:31 If that's serious tone, then I'll go for daft tone. There is no good or bad tone, only the right tone for the song. 1 Quote

Steve Browning Posted Tuesday at 07:26 Posted Tuesday at 07:26 Yes. I like it for the tune being played. Nice groove. Quote
Stofferson Posted Tuesday at 07:35 Posted Tuesday at 07:35 Great tone that, exactly what a bass should sound like Quote

fretmeister Posted Tuesday at 09:14 Posted Tuesday at 09:14 I like it, and I really like her signature model Fender. It actually makes such an old thing look fresh. 1 Quote

I prefer horribly obnoxious, aggressive tones! Or jaco tone or duffs tone or john paul Jones tone or stu hamm's tone, or Neil Murrays tone..... Quote
HeadlessBassist Posted Tuesday at 20:39 Posted Tuesday at 20:39 Yes, that rear humbucker on Blu's signature bass does sound huge - very much like a parallel Stingray. I've been wanting to try one of those Jazzes for a while, not that the blue sparkle/mirror finish is really me. 🫣 Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted Tuesday at 22:13 Posted Tuesday at 22:13 I'm always amazed when I see people play that close to the bridge. I mean, the strings hardly move! Quote
Geek99 Posted Tuesday at 22:47 Posted Tuesday at 22:47 I’ve never thought of playing there, maybe I should in a way it’s like the 70s pick-up position thing on a jazz, that is supposed to sound burpier Quote
paul_5 Posted Tuesday at 23:41 Posted Tuesday at 23:41 Great chops, but not a tone I'd be happy with. Quote

I'm not a fan of J/MM basses generally but unless I'm wrong that sounds like the bridge humbucker soloed or at least more bridge than neck. Edited 22 hours ago by Terry M. Quote

It's all very personal though. Quote

BigRedX Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago There's a lot more to bass than the tone in the OP and P-Bass with flats. 1 Quote
