Thunderbirds are the most dissapointing basses to play as they look so sexy, sound great but are totally impractical for me. Jez
Lies and slander, we'll not have you slagging off T-birds here! Quote

This however I think is beautiful .. Quote

warwickhunt Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Does this mean I have an excuse to slap up a pic of my Bolin again? What's not to love? Quote
thedontcarebear Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 At least those who don't like singlecuts seem to like Thunderbirds, which shows they have no taste anyway, and probably dress like Timmy Mallet. Quote
GreeneKing Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 John that's a bit grim, having a bass hanger on the outside wall of the house That'll be for the Fender? Quote

Eight Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009
heh heh!! I chuckled out aloud! Tell ya what though, if the singlecut is contoured nicely, after a 2 hour gig, you do notice how much more comfy it is not to have an upper horn digging in to ya chest.
Stop wearing your bass around your moobs then. Ah. Another old argument... funny how they're all cropping up at the minute. Quote

sshorepunk Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 I like SC's with nicley contured lines, some can look a bit too full! The Sei melt SC I saw a while back looked nice I always thought, Black pudding, Tea and Brocolli were the devils spawn! Tony Quote

Lfalex v1.1 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Is this a half-cut, then? As long as the balance is there, then I don't mind! Quote
that's a good example of how not to wind strings onto the machine heads... there's not enough turns on the posts for a start and it just ruins the look of an expensive bass having bits of wire going off in all directions... rather like guitarists who don't cut their strings properly and have little coils up there getting in the way... meh... Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Amen to that. I forgot about ASATs. I love 'em, but I'd have to sell me SRX700 first, and I can't do that! Quote
BottomEndian Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009
ASAT basses are mana from heaven.
Maybe so, but they're not single-cuts, are they? There's a definite concavity where the top 'horn' joins the neck joint. Double-cut! [/controversy] Quote
