Hellzero Posted Thursday at 20:13 Posted Thursday at 20:13 Here is one @Terry M., but it's to show the OP all these other European brands that are too often quite unknown like this Esh: https://www.bassic.de/kleinanzeigen/esh-bass-notorious-stingray.31653/ 1 Quote

I am tempted and I already own an Excess. Bit of a typo in the Bassbros description saying that the truss rod is in fully working order given that Vigiers do not have a truss rod. Quote

Mokl Posted yesterday at 15:39 Posted yesterday at 15:39 Has anybody mentioned Alusonic? Love my Django Std 5, and you could probably pick up a 4 within your budget if you can find one. 1 Quote

SteveXFR Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago That's a lot of interesting suggestions. The Sandberg California is quite appealing. The precision and stingray pickups are an appealing combo 2 Quote
BabyBlueSound Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I can only add to the Sandberg crowd, I am in love with mine! Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I like my Sandberg Bassic... Cheap and works for everything from slap to dub! Quote

I think anything can do metal. I've even seen a Hoffner violin bass used by a doom band before. A precision and humbucker should be an ideal pickup combination Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 1 hour ago, SteveXFR said: But can it do metal? I'm afraid it can't... Sandberg insist on a lifetime all-owner contract that stipulates that not only must their basses not be used to play any of the millions of sub-genres of metal, but they can't be used on any bill where metal is being played, whether live or recorded. 1 Quote
Hellzero Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 2 hours ago, SteveXFR said: But can it do metal? If you still consider Rammstein as a metal band, it can, if you consider it's now a pop band with a metal look, it can too. That said, isn't a black painted bass enough for metal? 🤪😉 Quote
Grooverjr Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I think Trump put a tariff on metal, so it's now too expensive for Americans to use a European bass for that purpose. 1 Quote
