wateroftyne Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Hey gang! I'm a P guy, but one of my bands needs a J really, so I've been on the lookout for something for a while. Was hoping for something LPB or Charcoal Frost, but this popped up, and I couldn't resist. It's a Custom Shop Journeyman relic, so think closet classic with slightly less shine and the occasional ding. I know relics are polarising, but I think they nailed it with this one - it glows. Medium-weight alder body (guessing 9lbs or thereabouts), quartersawn neck, slab board.. and stacked knobs which will take a little getting used to in the heat of the moment. Haven't gigged it yet, but it sounds gorgeous so far. Really rich and resonant. Roll on next weekend! ]] 29 Quote
HeadlessBassist Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Very, very nice. Nitro finish (the most important part), I presume? Quote

gary mac Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Lovely. I usually really dislike ageing/relicing but that looks great, the best example that I've seen. Quote

snorkie635 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 A very fine bass indeed and I bet that neck just glides like Torvill and Dean? Enjoy for a very, very long time. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Quote
LiverpoolBassPlayer Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Stunning Jazz, that. I'm on the 'not keen on relics' side of the fence but this looks great!! Quote

Misdee Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Would look good with a black scratch plate, too, if you fancied a change. Lovely bass, enjoy it. Quote
