Craigster Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Hi everyone. I wondered, do any of you have experience with using a downloadable synth app for tablet / PC or phone or, even a stand-alone micro synth / drum machine? Yes, I am a bassist but I'm looking to add some occasional synth melodies and electronic drum snare samples to compliment / fill out my bands sound - just to give it a slight and occasional pop vibe. I'm not interested in a synth pedal for my bass, that's definitely not something I want to add into the bass rhythm. I've got it into my head that I could download an app onto one of my devices, then, using some kind of adaptor, link it into our mixer - is this possible? If so, could somebody give me advice on how I can achieve this. What kind of equipment do I need? If using a tablet or PC, what kinda gear do I need to connect to a mixer? Can I hook it up through a looper? Like I said, its just for occasional usage and so I be wanting to do this on a budget - if possible. Do any of you have any recommendations for any type of equipment or, even ideas for alternative ways of doing this? I'd be thrilled if someone has the answer to this. Thanks everyone in advance! PaulThePlug Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Watching with interest... I had similar thoughts. Synth Phone App, with a Mini K'bd type thing as controller (Akai Mini thingy with a Moog App would be smashing!) Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted April 6 Posted April 6 My brother has a synth app on his iphone which he uses as part of his work with people with autism. He does a lot of music-related activities. It sounds quite impressive. I will ask what it is called. 1 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted April 6 Posted April 6 It's Walk Band... but it doesn't seem to permit an external keyboard. Quote
