Most of the radios are doing the same on a daily basis...

Thankfully, most of the time you can turn them off, unlike these public nuisances daring to call themselves musicians.

Unless they are controlled by builders, who for some reason need to play whatever mainstream music station as loud as it can be played.

Prohibit amplified busking. Also, when buskers are being prosecuted, tell the judgethat they were protesting for Just Stop Oil and their sentences will start at five years.

Was the Journo in fact listening to Global radio and sick of hearing the same song on repeat and decided to get back at them with a good old fashioned April Fools? 🤔

It definitely seems ironic for Global Radio (Capital, Heart, Gold) to be complaining about repetitive poor quality music.

Yes, very much this!

When I used to work in the centre of Truro there was a "busker" who "played" sort of flamenco-y guitar, and he'd more or less set up right outside our office (we were on the first floor). I say "played" because it was blantantly obvious that he wasn't playing live but was miming over a pre-recorded version, and his PA was so obnoxiously loud that we knew that within certain times of day whenever we'd get phone calls we'd have to tell callers - including important clients - that we'd have to call them back later because holding a conversation would be impossible without yelling over the noise. We complained to the council several times, and on his Facebook page, but all to nought.

Absolutely this. Up to the end of last year, we were living on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. When the festivals came back after covid, every wee guitar hero prick turned up with an amp cranked to eleven. By the end of the first week, we'd given them all names, none of which were polite. Acoustic secondary glazing did manage to reduce our stress levels from 'imminent homicide' to 'annoyance' but of course that meant we couldn't open a window in summer. The street performers got in on the act too, last year. Every one of them had a wireless headset and an amp whereas before they just used to talk loudly.

I absolutely loathe amplified busking.

Ah, but the buskers could deny it and tell the judge that they are protesting Farmers having to pay inheritence tax.... and they will get off scot-free ;)
