Bluewine Posted Thursday at 17:54 Author Posted Thursday at 17:54 (edited) It seems like I might have a busy summer. Bookings are still coming in. Mostly fairs & festivals, Winery's and Brewerys. Here's a story about a gig we just canceled. County Fair. We were supposed to play outside of the grandstand after the Bret Michael's. ( Poison ),9-11. When we were confirming the gig we found out they were not providing sound & lights and we had to turn it down. It would have been too expensive to bring our own. Oh well. casapete Posted Thursday at 22:56 Posted Thursday at 22:56 Mine is looking okay. I have 3 gigs every month at good venues with the acoustic duo, along with quite a few other ‘one offs’. Gigs with the blues three piece amount to 2 / 3 a month too, mainly in pubs although we have one at a blues club and an appearance at a Jazz and Blues festival in June. I don’t really want any more gigs than these TBH as I’m hoping to have some nice days away with Mrs CP ( which I rarely managed when I was touring.) 2 Quote

I don't think I want anymore. I especially struggle with 2 gig weekends. Daryl 1 Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted Friday at 06:58 Posted Friday at 06:58 We've only got three gigs booked, all on consecutive weekends... National Mountain Boarding Festival, a joint show in Hereford with Brazilian punks Anti Virus, then Rebellion Festival in Blackpool. 1 Quote
BigRedX Posted Friday at 09:42 Posted Friday at 09:42 Much the same as the rest of the year. Personally I don't like festivals much and I don't think the English weather is particularly suitable for them unless they are held indoors. We have one outdoor event in the 2025 calendar but it does have an indoor location should the weather turn bad, and I have relations living close by so I'll be staying with them rather than mingling with the great unwashed while I'm not actually on stage. 2 Quote
Lozz196 Posted Friday at 11:04 Posted Friday at 11:04 At the moment we’ve 3 gigs up til the end of May, then nothing til Sep. 1 Quote

cetera Posted Friday at 14:43 Posted Friday at 14:43 I've got 14 gigs in so far from May - September. Deps with Duran#Spandau show, local covers gigs, function band weddings and a couple of gigs with an original artist. Not bad so far! 3 Quote

We're ideal weather wise for summer festivals. However it depends on how they're organised. Established festivals where you have upscale sound ,lighting and staging can be nice. Stub Mandrel Posted Friday at 21:05 Posted Friday at 21:05 Only about 11 lined up between now and September and one venue has gone worryingly quiet. Most are at venues I like playing. 1 Quote

bassbiscuits Posted Saturday at 07:36 Posted Saturday at 07:36 Good mix of tribute gigs, solo acoustic gigs, dep gigs and blues band gigs over the summer for me. But I’m also keeping time aside to actually relax and go on holiday with my wife and kids too. It’s been a real slog over the last year or so and my family deserve me back for a bit! 1 Quote
knirirr Posted Saturday at 09:30 Posted Saturday at 09:30 There are a small number of gigs lined up, but nothing new, e.g. - Charlbury Beer Festival. - Ramsden Fete. - Charity concert in St. Martin's Church, Oxford. ...plus some as-yet-unconfirmed stuff. I'd be surprised if there were more than half a dozen gigs, but that number is fine with me. 1 Quote

On a side note, the woman in the photograph is my cousin Elisabeth Kenny, master Theorbo player. Sadly, I don’t really know her and am not sure if we‘ve ever met. 3 Quote
SICbass Posted Saturday at 10:18 Posted Saturday at 10:18 (edited) This year, my summer is well decent, which is normally never the case. I‘ve got a run of a Rock’n’Roll show which started last night - 4 shows a week till the end of May, immediately followed by 6 weeks of an ABBA show - both shows are in my hometown - result. Then a two week gap and a further 7 weeks in a theatre out of town (8 shows a week), by which point it’s mid-September. Please forgive me showing off, but like I said, this normally never happens to me, so I’m well chuffed. Edited Saturday at 10:21 by SICbass 3 Quote

Paul S Posted Saturday at 11:49 Posted Saturday at 11:49 My lot - nothing after the end of April. Not one. Nowt. Zip. Rein. Nada. Zilch. Niets. Nichts. mitättömyys. Niente. 无 . لَاشَيّءَ . 何も・・・ない Which in some ways is OK as I may be having some surgery coming up, depending upon what they decide to do with me. Quote
