mike257 Posted Saturday at 17:03 Posted Saturday at 17:03 (edited) I'm 17 gigs deep in this year's schedule, and have about 80 in the diary between now and the end of November - which is a slow year compared to the last few! Unfortunately, none of them with a bass round my neck - all with my tour manager, sound engineer or guitar tech hats on - but some cracking stuff in the diary, a few bucket list things in there for me so very much looking forward to it all. Nice mix of touring and festivals, including lots of time in Europe and short stints in both the US and Aus/NZ. Bass playing in 2025 has so far been limited to annoying the dog playing along to Spotify in the living room! Edited Saturday at 17:03 by mike257 2 Quote

jezzaboy Posted Saturday at 18:15 Posted Saturday at 18:15 My lot (acdc trib) are playing the Town Hall stage at Bonfest up in Kirriemuir first Saturday in May then after that 3 pub gigs till the end of August so not a lot really. 1 Quote

I‘ve got a run of a Rock’n’Roll show which started last night - 4 shows a week till the end of May, immediately followed by 6 weeks of an ABBA show - both shows are in my hometown - result. Then a two week gap and a further 7 weeks in a theatre out of town (8 shows a week), by which point it’s mid-September. Please forgive me showing off, but like I said, this normally never happens to me, so I’m well chuffed. That schedule is something to " flex" about. That's a nice Summer. Daryl Quote
NHM Posted Sunday at 07:13 Posted Sunday at 07:13 Reading this it looks like we aren't doing too badly - 18 booked in for the remainder of 2025, with a few more expected. We're a (hobby) pub covers band playing the north Kent coastal towns plus a couple of local festivals, all with maximum drive of 20 miles to a venue. For me about 24 gigs a year is ideal, two a month keeps it fresh but allows time for rehearsals and to add new material. This year's set is 50% changed from last year which keeps us (me!) on our (my!) toes. 3 Quote

Franticsmurf Posted Sunday at 12:20 Posted Sunday at 12:20 Four definite bookings with the Hulla band - including our self organised festival at which I'll also be performing with a splinter band. I would expect us to pick up another 3 or 4 gigs between now and the end of the year, if previous years are to go by. We tend to play private functions rather than pubs and clubs. 8 to 10 gigs per year with the Hulla is the norm. I'm also rehearsing with a new band and I would be expecting to pick up some bookings with them, probably starting in the next month or so. 1 Quote
tauzero Posted yesterday at 01:07 Posted yesterday at 01:07 One gig in May, then a hiatus until August and five more gigs till the end of the year - but that's partly because one or other of us is away through June and July. Another two or three are coming in, we should get to our target of 20 or so for the year. Quote

Sorry to hear about both of those. Good luck with the surgery. I hope it's nothing too serious. 1 Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Weeds have a very rare outing, but it's not till autumn - we have a headline in Chester in October! Full band haven't played together for about 7 years, despite releasing our first ever e.p in March. Rehearsals and song writing will be remote (we're far-flung, from Ireland to South of France!) with one actual physical rehearsal day before the gig... Quote
ossyrocks Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) We have 16 gigs in the diary for the rest of the year including a few festivals and a theatre. We're also releasing an album this year to coincide with our appearance at The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival in August These are exciting times for me! Rob Edit: PS: I also turn 60 in a few weeks and my wife and I are off to Tuscany to celebrate. Edited 4 hours ago by ossyrocks 2 Quote
martthebass Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago We're fairly busy up until the end of May and then it goes quiet until August for some reason. We've been actively promoting to pull gigs in for June/July but not much headway as yet. Quote
BigRedX Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We've just had to turn down two potentially very good gigs in May and July due to prior commitments which is a pity. However we do have following now confirmed: 25th April: Whitby Goth Weekend, The Cove, Whitby 10th May: Carpe Noctum, The Lending Room, Leeds 24th May: Re:Vamped Weekend, 1 In 12 Club, Bradford 25th May: Dot To Dot Festival, The Chapel, Nottingham 12th July: Goths On A Field, Bridge Farm, Ellesmere 14th August: Twisted Firestarter (Infest Warm Up), Rebellion, Manchester And several more lined up between now and the end of August that I'm not allowed to announce yet. We also have our next single out on Friday 25th April on all streaming and download platforms and as a limited edition CD that can be bought at our gigs. Quote
neepheid Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Ach, not too bad. Gotta fit things around people taking holidays so July and August are quieter. Covers band (Nine Lives) is gigging reasonably frequently: May 3rd - North Bar, Peterhead May 4th (yay, Star Wars Day gig!) - Pittendrum Bar, Sandhaven (near Fraserburgh) May 24th - Wilsons, Aberdeen May 30th - O'Donoghues, Aberdeen June 7th - Balaclava Bar, Fraserburgh June 14th - Wilsons, Aberdeen June 21st - Harbour Lights, Peterhead June 28th - Maud Football Club July 5th - Gray's Inn, Aberdeen August 9th - Wilsons, Aberdeen August 16th - Balaclava Bar, Fraserburgh Originals band (The Inevitable Teaspoons) will be recording their second album (and also trying to mix it ourselves, so gawd only knows how long that's going to take) - if we pick up any gigs, so be it but they'll likely be local jobs at either Krakatoa or Drummonds in Aberdeen. On a personal note - looking forward to attending the NW England Bass Bash in May, be good to catch up with bassy friends and get my mitts on some tasty basses! Edited 2 hours ago by neepheid Quote
