A fellow named Jason Newsted played a Sadowsky during the peak of his bands fame. That band was named Metallica.

Also Tal Wilkenfeld, who took one of the most famous bass solos in the past 15 years with Jeff Beck, and also has played with Incubus. Darryl Jones, Marcus Miller, Verdine White, Roscoe Beck.

The last few times I've seen Tal playing she's been using a P-bass in preference to the Sadowsky

As a current owner of a Sadowsky, the preamp feels special because it boosts in ways that don't feel oppressive. When I boost the treble, the bass sounds sweeter and more modern, but I don't fear it getting "brittle" or harsh. When I boost the bass it just sounds bigger, but not boomy and I don't lose any of the articulation. I just get to decide how forward in the mix I'm going to sound, and it just feels very well thought out frequency response-wise

This is also the case when it's in other basses too, it does the same sort of thing in my Sire

Research is not a strong point in their gear videos… lots of mistakes that a quick pre-record check would have avoided.

However they seem like scholars compared to people in the Andertons videos, where they didn't even know how to pronounce Sadowsky for example.

To me the Sire preamp frequencies are extremely exaggerated and false sounding toward the upper end. The bass cranked introduces boom. The upper end of the treble sweep sounds harsh. It's a good sounding preamp when under control. The Sadowsky preamp doesn't suffer from this. I've had several Sires in the past. Just my long-winded way of agreeing with you 😆

Yes like I said, bass players are influencers now and have a stable full of instruments. Doesn’t change the fact that she played that solo on a sadowsky. That was all I was saying there. It’s going to be tough to find many artists who only use one instrument or brand anymore.  Not like the older days where that was more common.

I'm pretty sure there are few basses he hasn't gotten his hands on at some point but was he ever endorsed by Sadowsky? Tal Wilkenfield,Verdine White,Will Lee (for example) were/are.

Not as far as I know., I don’t think he has ever been officially endorsed by a bass maker/luthier although I think he’s on the Fodera artist roster. Obviously he has a deal with Sire but he still uses his original 70’s Jazz bass most of the time it seems.

That's basically Canada......🤣

I dare you to say that to a Montanan.

I was once told that it's hilly Texas with snow.

Culturally, Montana and Texas are a darn sight closer than Montana and Canadastan. Except maybe Austin.
