Apparently the neck has been shimmed to improve the action. With that thicknessof shim, I think a judicious bit of filing would have been a better approach and might have increased the value to somewhere above the £50 mark.

Last time i checked, you are only supposed to shim under the very end of neck, not the whole neck pocket!?!?

The shim might have been to tilt the neck forward rather than back, in which case the shim would be at the front of the neck pocket. Or it's simply crap.

This guy has featured on here before, looks like another cheapy remodelled into a "custom built" bass:

 

Not quite MDP levels of insanity but still a bit off. Would be interesting to get a clearer pic of the neckplate on that black P bass as I can't make out where it was made.
