Help needed..crown Xls 1502 and line 6 filter pro

Hi all

 

Desperately need some help. At a gig about a month ago my filter pro stopped working ..horrible electrical burning smell...nearly cleared the pub. I took it apart to see if anything obvious was going on..the main cap was bulging so I bought a replacement.. the unit fired up for about 2 seconds..a pop near the transformer and dead again...the PCB looks ok..no burnt traces etc ..

 

So the unit is not in my rack anymore awaiting surgery...anybody got any ideas what could be the issue and potential fixes or someone who could mend it ..I love it and will be gutted if it's dead 

 

Then on Sat night I was using the same rack and again the smell of burning electrical had the band looking at me again ..I thought my Crown power amp was going the same way...but it seemed to be working fine. 

 

Second question is this... Is it possible that the stink from the line 6 could have lingered in the crown amp and once it got hot it released the kraken, so to speak... I'm soak running the crown with no input at the moment and it seems fine...no smell but I'm now paranoid about burning kit...no do run the crown pretty much flat out...with it only clipping into the red occasionally... Is this too much maybe.

.any less and I can't get over the drummer...

 

Any help or guidance on this would be hugely appreciated...lots of gigs coming up and need stable reliable gear...
