It's certainly not 'worthless information' and as someone who has owned an acoustic bass for 5 years, I am not 'clueless' about it. I may have a different opinion and experience of them than others here but that's ok. I chose to share my experience so that others could make an informed decision.

Sure, it's true, but the same can be said about P basses, Jazz basses, Rics, Stingrays, etc...you have to plug them in.

The OP mentioned he'd be plugging in.

Maybe I shouldn't have said "clueless" but it was the first thing that popped to mind.
