ReeV0 Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Hi all, I'm looking for a small cheap practice amp to take to my bandmates house, for quiet practice, rather than lugging my 2x12. Maybe something in the 15w range? I used to have a Stagg 20w combo amp back in the day which was rubbish. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm really looking for under £40. Thanks! Quote
PaulThePlug Posted April 19 Posted April 19 (edited) Whats local to you on Faceache Market? I scored a little Eden 8 for £20ish Might see a Baby Rumble 15... Orange Crush, After Eight or som such. Any Loft Find Carpet Covered Combo can be given a Freshen-Up with a Washing up brush and a jumper de-bobbler. Edited April 19 by PaulThePlug Quote
Ed_S Posted April 19 Posted April 19 £40 or less should get you a Peavey Micro Bass in decent condition. They're built tough and sound alright. Quote
ReeV0 Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 Thanks. I've got my eye on the Fender Rumble 15 v1 Quote

ReeV0 Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 (edited) Yeah, I think I've narrowed it down to the Rumble 15 v1 or the peavey Microbass 20w Edited April 19 by ReeV0 Quote
nekomatic Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Marshall MB 15 is also worth considering if you see one. 2 Quote
ReeV0 Posted Wednesday at 17:10 Author Posted Wednesday at 17:10 Well, the Peavey Microbass I bought arrived broken so I'm sending that back. If anyone on here has a small amp they don't need anymore, feel free to get in touch! Quote
TRBboy Posted Wednesday at 19:19 Posted Wednesday at 19:19 The best small practice amp I tried in recent years was an EBS Classic Session combo, sounded incredible for it's size! Quote
Elfrasho Posted Thursday at 18:04 Posted Thursday at 18:04 A small 2nd hand active speaker is worth a shout! plus you get a bit more versailty! Might be a mad idea but i picked one of these up off of facebook marketplace for £30 recently: https://www.amazon.co.uk/KAM-RZ10A-Active-Speaker-Built-Black/dp/B01G7SYVNK/ref=asc_df_B01G7SYVNK?mcid=684f423ee63739b48154292e5fe4439e&th=1&tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696385059973&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3409122903263770849&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046913&hvtargid=pla-773084311572&gad_source=1 Cheap, small and extremely light and i suspect handles bass better than the very practice amps available. Obviously this is not aimed at bass players but honestly, if your bass sounds good already then what else do you really need from an amp. Doubles up as my practice guitar rig, and will be my music station for the garden when the weather arrives! Quote
