Sambrook Posted Thursday at 11:16 Posted Thursday at 11:16 Saw Hejira last night in Kendal, playing Joni Mitchell's 'Jaco/jazz' period. Really excellent show, great playing by all. Bass player (Dave Jones?) on top form. Thoroughly recommended... 3 Quote
ossyrocks Posted Thursday at 13:31 Posted Thursday at 13:31 I was there too! It's was our 4th time seeing them. Amazing band, with a very talented and wonderful vocalist. It's the first time we've seen them at The Brewery (their first time there I think), and I don't think the sound was as good as our three previous gigs, but it was still ok. I really liked everything Dave Jones did on bass, except perhaps his solo, which I found a bit hard to understand. Yes, highly recommended. Rob Quote
visog Posted Thursday at 16:15 Posted Thursday at 16:15 Sounds good - love the original album and the three subsequent Joni/Jaco collab albums. He played totally differently with Joni compared to his solo and Weather Report gigs. Quote
nekomatic Posted Saturday at 16:53 Posted Saturday at 16:53 (edited) I hadn’t heard of this band and must look out for them! We saw Jesca Hoop’s Songs Of Joni Mitchell project a few months back, which was great. They’re on tour again this autumn, only this time with Kate Stables out of This Is The Kit in the band, and there isn’t really anyone better than Kate Stables. Boodang Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago One of my fav albums, along with Bright Size Life and certainly my preferred Jacob period. Sounds like a really interesting band, will definitely have to check them out. Quote
