ash Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Sterling StingRay Shortscale A great little short scale bass for the money, plays and sounds fantastic - really captures that StingRay growl using a passive pickup. It is all original except the machine-heads which I replaced with Hipshots. The reason being I found it a wee bit headstock heavy. The eagle eyed will spot that one is a USA version and this is because the Hipshot licensed tuners I had in my spares box are none reversible. The bass weighs an astonishing 3.1kgs so great for those with bad backs or shoulders. I don’t think there were many imported in this black and maple finish and it certainly has that classic StingRay look. I had a single ply black scratchplate on it for a time however it is supplied with the original faux tortoiseshell. Nice low action, fresh D’Addario 45-100 nicklewound strings. No gigbag but I have a Sterling box should you require it posting. Selling because I have been buying far too much! Postage UK only at buyer’s cost.
