steve-soar Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 I want something that I can throw in my gig bag to record rehearsals and get interesting sounds for samples. I've started reading reviews but I'd like any opinions from you fellas. I don't really want to spend more than £200. Cheers Steve. Quote
thedontcarebear Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 The cheaper of the 2 zoom's is good, my drummer and housemate has one, he has recorded us at practice a few times and I am always impressed with the recording, it picks up bass well, which I think is often lacking on these kind of things. I use it to record the band when we work on new songs and the result is very good. +1 Quote
steve-soar Posted June 16, 2009 Author Posted June 16, 2009 Thanks guys, I quite like the look of this little fella but I also like the look of the H4N, with the two XLR/1/4 " combo inputs, but the H2 can record in an omnidirectional pattern. Thinks Quote
iamapirate Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Well, it might be a bit big, but I've been using the boss BR-900CD for the last 3(?) years to record all the bands I've been in. I've only recently upgraded, but I still use it a lot. Great for demo CDs. But like I said, probably a bit too big. It's got 2XLR inputs, 1 or 2 jack inputs, a phono output, a jack (headphone) output, and a phono input, plus some really good USB stuff and other things. Quote
byeyejimmy Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 can you record a feed from a mixer into the h2? Quote

EBS_freak Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Tascam DR-07. I road tested quite a few and this was my personal fave. Had excellent results with it in all sorts of environments. I have got it loaded it an 8Gb card which means I don't really have to worry about running out of space. It's got superb battery life and I have nothing to complain about after 6 months of heavy usage... Quote
steve-soar Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 Thanks chaps, like the look of the Tascam. Quote
