Pbassred
Don't get me wrong, I know it quite well. However I just got a call from a covers band that is forming. I live just outside to the north. One guy lives in the east and 2 more in the south. They want to do 2-3 gigs a week. Now, I have a day job and I wonder how much of my time would be spent driving across town for a split of a £600 gig? Does anyone do this? Sibob
Most of my covers gigs are in the greater/central london area, and i live in south bucks west of london. Most gigs take 30mins or so to get to. Its no problem for me, although i get driven by the band leader to them all, so i've got it easy lol I'd say it sounds pretty good as long as you can get away from work to soundchecks taking into account rush hours etc. We generally don't arrive at our gigs before 9, so the traffic is usually cleared by then.
