Ain't never heard of that. BB
OldGit
What appears to be a nice wood capping is in fact an image of nice wood stuck onto the front of the normal wood body.
BarnacleBob
Bloody hell that was quick! Under the lacquer, I hope? BB
paul h
Yes, under the lacquer! I had one of these as my gigging bass for years....definitely on the "Why the hell did I sell it?" list. P.
The Bass Doc
I wouldn't get too excited about this model - the photograph (for that it what it is) will shrink over time and crack, revealing a not too pleasant piece of wood underneath. paul h
I had mine for years, gigged it a lot and got it nice and sweaty...nothing like that even came close to occurring. Edited June 19, 2009 by paul h
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I saw a cherry sunburst one on consignment in a shop a few years ago. The lacquer and foto had worn away in a big patch where the previous owner's right arm must have rested, exposing the basswood underneath. It looked like he played close to the bridge. It totally ruined the look of the bass. It would have been beautiful otherwise.
