Musicman20
Alternatives = Aguilar DB8x10, Orange OBC8x10. I have heard the Aguilar...it is INSANE. SO much more low end than the Ampeg 8x10.

chris_b
....Always wondered what Ampegs have over all the other 8x10s. Is it just the name?....
In a brand driven market Ampeg has the dominant position because of its name and history. Also, in 1969, Ampeg got it right straight out of the box and didn't change a thing for years. The other 810 cabs are one enclosure and are usually ported, but the Ampeg 810 is not ported and is 4 210 cabs in one. Each pair of 10's is separated from the other which gives it its sound and its weight. Has anyone suggested a Bergantino NV610? As it's a sealed cab it really is a viable alternative to the Ampeg 810. It's smaller, louder, punchier and has more bass. There's also one for sale on BC.
