molan Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 (edited) Damn, damn, damn - just when i thought I'd got my spending under control I discovered myself with some cash in my pocket after trading something recently. I was totally planning not to buy anything new for a while and just settle in with what I have and then I spotted this: And I just couldn't resist 2002 Ken Smith BSR5MW in near mint condition, maple body core, walnut top and back, maple neck, morado board. It'll take a couple of weeks to arrive though Edited July 28, 2009 by molan Quote
Platypus Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Lovely bass you got yourself there, Barrie. Good luck with that Quote
silverfoxnik Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Gorgeous looking thing! Always fancied a Ken Smith 5 string myself.. Look forward to hearing what you think of it after it arrives? Quote
TGEvans Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 THAT is stunning.the first bass player i got into when i started playing used more or less the exact same model as that one.whats the story behind it?i have heard that the company are awkward to deal with.i have sent two emails in the past and have not had anything back.really love the look of her though.i am sure you will love it.t Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Lush. Always had a soft spot for Smiths. Never played a bad one. Wish my (ex!) Girlfriend hadn't moaned me into not buying a Smith 6 about 12 years ago. Bought a Streamer LX 6 instead, but I'm still more than likely to acquire a Smith at some point. Might not be a multi, though. Quote
molan Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) Some more pics of this little beauty Played it at rehearsal this evening & it just sounds great for funkier stuff Edited July 28, 2009 by molan Quote
beardybass Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 That's one fine piece of errrrr... assorted fancy woods! Looks crackin', bet it's gonna sound like a big pile of loveliness too! Congratulations on the new addition to the family! Quote
leschirons Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Beautiful lump that. Always had a hankering however, may be worth looking at some old posts (Crazy Kiwi I think) apparently Ken Smith is not the most "forgiving" person to deal with if you need any back-up or support. I'm jealous though. Quote

Josh Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 A quick review, if I may: This bass is f***ing awesome. I thank you. Quote
Marvin Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Pure filth. You know you posted it on the wrong forum it most definitely belongs in Gear Porn and well you know it. Shame on you. Not that I'm envious or anything. Quote

Anyway, all Smiths I've seen were at least 5ies. Quote
