harryo Posted June 23, 2009 Share Posted June 23, 2009 This bass caught my eye a few years ago due to it's stylish vintage looks. It really stands out. When I tried one out it FAR exceeded my expectations. You can get a huge variety of sounds out of it due to the massive bridge humbucker and the active piezo bridge pickup. These can be used separately or combined!! Really unique feature. I've found that generally it has a great vintage sound, probably to do with the flatwounds I've had on it, but if you're not keen on that muddy sound then you can fiddle with the dials to get more punchy tones. I know it's not a mainstream brand but please take time to check up on reviews, Italia are an extremely high quality manufacturer. They dont make this anymore so you'll be hard pressed to find one elsewhere. I'm mostly a bedroom player but it has been gigged a few times. Unfortunately theres a little ding on the back of the neck, the photo makes it look worse than it is as I'm not too hot at photography. I'm so sad to let this one go, but yes times are hard and I'm amassing a hefty student debt.. Hope this goes to a really good home. I'll supply it in a gig bag, I live in Birmingham but will post.
