Ever since you said about the mismatch/colour differences between the body wings on my stage 2, ive noticed it - gave it a good wax and clean yesterday and it isnt as obvious but I think you are actually right now, they arent properly matched.

Still sounds huge, and it will sound even better with an OBP-3 installed :)

To be honest, it is nice to see an SSII with a good bit of figuring! I find Afzelia a little dull normally, your bass is a treat :D

Heartwood is a reddish brown. Well defined sapwood is a pale yellowish white. Color tends to darken with age. Pieces containing pommele or blistered figure are sometimes sold under the name Afzelia xylay, which is a shortened version of the botanical name of a particular Asian species, Afzelia xylocarpa.

Afzelia is on the IUCN redlist and is now an endangered type of wood. Expect to see it disappear from many catalogs, much like Boire has.

Gorgeous instrument, but interesting way of mounting your straplocks :)

Well, as I've gone crawling back to Warwick for my main workhorse, I may as well update here!

'96 Streamer Bolt On (pre LX), previously owned by Sambucadan on here.

Fair play for taking up that bargain :) If it had narrower spacing at the nut I would have had it! :)

Thanks, Kev - you know how it goes when things just get to be too much of a temptation when it's such a great deal. It's a monster of an instrument though and well worth selling a couple of amps I wasn't using to help fund :)

Yes, it's a wider string spacing at the nut but after spending some time with her it's starting to feel 'normal' to me now :)

Cheers, Dave

One brand of bass I've never owned... and now I've got Warwick GAS!!

Which one would you recommend for beefy, bouncy rocky, hard-playing with a picky, hefty loudy soundy in a three-piece bandy? :)
