Pieces containing pommele or blistered figure are sometimes sold under the name Afzelia xylay, which is a shortened version of the botanical name of a particular Asian species, Afzelia xylocarpa. Afzelia is on the IUCN redlist and is now an endangered type of wood. Expect to see it disappear from many catalogs, much like Boire has. [/quote] Thanks, Kev - you know how it goes when things just get to be too much of a temptation when it's such a great deal.
