[/quote] I can't decide if I like painted warwicks or not. Old bluey was ok, as is your red one.... but they were transparent. this looks kinda ok, but roonjuice's one (sorry mate) the grey burst.... on a warwick.... why??

There are some solid colours that are just 'classic' but I agree not all work... luckily beauty is in the eye of the beholder! ;)

That orange-painted SS1 that you had/have is probably the coolest looking Warwick I've ever seen.

Amazing Beasty. Do you still own that?

It went to E Europe, to a Warwick endorsee. It had been butchered before I got it which justified the refinish but it wasn't a cheapy job getting it done, especially with the revealed thru-neck.

1984 Warwick Streamer, 113th Warwick bass, predates even the 'Licensed by Spector' truss rod cover. Great condition for its age, and weighs in on my scales at 7lb 9oz :). Not sure if I am going to keep hold of it as I fancy a more growly cousin, think SSII, Thumb, Dolphin, but we'll see, early days!

Red is 1990 Streamer SSI, bought off John, gorgeous bass and great tone, my new favourite :)

When the sun appears again I will get some decent pictures!

She will be on her way to John later this week! Lovely instrument but decided ultimately I couldn't justify two SSI's and decided to let it go. Is indeed in wonderful condition. Decided my funds are better placed in another growlier Warwick, so now looking for a Dolphin or SSII. Just something about the dense heavy wood models that delivers killer tone for me. I may get a thumb, but I doubt I'll find one I prefer to the one I stupidly sold :(

The Red SS1 isn't going anywhere though :)

Hello Basschat btw. It's been quite some time.

My Dolphin Pro1 is getting a custom truss rod, just got a call the materials for constructing one are on their way.
The original removable two way aluminium truss rod does work but not good enough. Replacing it with a one way rod that has more strength and range.

Matched my Thumb '88 fretted with an '89 fretless January this year, took me nearly a year find.
