Don't underestimate the Corvette STD. I love the way they sound!
True they used to be the cheaper model but the cost of building them was close to that of other models back in the day.
Just as good as any other Wawick!

It does sound good. Especially through the trace. I asked warwick a few questions I had and one was the new German basses. They cost at least 2000€ more than the pro series.

"Every instrument is now one-of-a-kind and made from individually-selected woods and equipped with high-tech features such as Invisible Fretwork Technology and our ultra-thin UV lacquer that dries in seconds. Also, as of 2013, our Made in Germany instruments now come with CNC-routed brass bridges, and Wenge necks."

Is that really worth an extra 2,000€? Not that I could ever afford one. Is there anything else different?

No, but marketing allows this and people do buy them for that kinda money.

This also creates a huuuge gap between prices of new instruments and used ones, although prices for certain used market models have gone up as well over the last two years or so.
Still, I'd sooner buy a used German model then any of the pro series or rockbass series models. With musical instruments I try to avoid buying new anyway.

Here's mine. It's a very early one. Has no serial number. It's been suggested to me that it may be the original Namm show model:

It was all much simpler when I had mine..

If you wanted a 'cheaper one' you bought a passive Fortress, Corvette or Streamer STD then in the middle were the BO / LX models and finally the super expensive ones with solid necks and/or custom shop variants.

And they were ALL made in Germany..

Not that I have an issue about them being made elsewhere as well as Germany, it's just that the series of models seems to have become very complicated and the prices seem to be heading up hill too.

I expect Warwick is a much bigger company than it was when I had mine. It's still the best bass I've ever owned, 13 years down the line is testament to that.

Doesn't look like the seller will ship over here tho, would work out expensive with import duties etc but still

Considering John has still not sold his custom shop Dolphin at £1800, I think that is an ambitious price. With import duty and shipping it would be very expensive for a UK buyer.

Nice! Had one of those, I still regret selling it.

Here are my two new additions.

Warwick Streamer P-Nut Signature II & III

Both were reviewed for the german magazine. Simply sublime. Nothing more I can say....

That P-Nut III is the nuts mate :) Another SSII is on its way to you as we speak! ;)

Only just noticed that the inlays only start at the 5th fret, I wonder why he spec'd that?

It went immediately bud from the looks of it, in fact I think it may have been on the cards before the advert even went up.
