lukeward2004 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Its the picture/camera - in the flesh, you cant see a difference. Only took these on my crappy camera phone so its a bit pants, quality wise! Quote
lukeward2004 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Ever since you said about the mismatch/colour differences between the body wings on my stage 2, ive noticed it - gave it a good wax and clean yesterday and it isnt as obvious but I think you are actually right now, they arent properly matched. Still sounds huge, and it will sound even better with an OBP-3 installed Quote

I find Afzelia a little dull normally, your bass is a treat Quote
DiMarco Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Heartwood is a reddish brown. Well defined sapwood is a pale yellowish white. Color tends to darken with age. Pieces containing pommele or blistered figure are sometimes sold under the name Afzelia xylay, which is a shortened version of the botanical name of a particular Asian species, Afzelia xylocarpa. Afzelia is on the IUCN redlist and is now an endangered type of wood. Expect to see it disappear from many catalogs, much like Boire has. Quote
lukeward2004 Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 .....which makes my SS2 that little bit more special, if Azelia becomes hard to get! Quote

goblin Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Well, as I've gone crawling back to Warwick for my main workhorse, I may as well update here! '96 Streamer Bolt On (pre LX), previously owned by Sambucadan on here. Dazed Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 So warwick fans, is there a difference in sound weight feel etc in thru neck and bolt on thumbs? It's a 2008 build too so maybe not the best neck profile. Quote

Kev Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 Fair play for taking up that bargain If it had narrower spacing at the nut I would have had it! Quote

[/quote] Thanks, Kev - you know how it goes when things just get to be too much of a temptation when it's such a great deal. It's a monster of an instrument though and well worth selling a couple of amps I wasn't using to help fund Yes, it's a wider string spacing at the nut but after spending some time with her it's starting to feel 'normal' to me now Cheers, Dave Quote

blablas Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) Today this one arrived at my doorstep. Warwick ProSerie Corvette Std 6 FL And I already owned this one for a longer time. Warwick-Rockbass Corvette Put a Warwick two piece bridge on it and put in an old 2-band BassTec preamp. Edited September 20, 2014 by blablas Quote
