Neither, it says Made in China on the back of the headstock.

Interesting. Your photo made it look as though it has the Pro Series arched top. IIRC the Rockbass version is supposed to be flat?

A close up:

I'm not sure why, but that's the nicest Stage II I've ever seen. Always wanted one but the weight of the majority of them put me off as my back and shoulders are a mess. Now I sit down all the time it's not really an issue anymore.

I recently finished restoring this beauty, a 1990 Warwick Streamer with a broadneck and barts. I really need to take some better photos that better show the flaming in the maple, but for now these will have to suffice:

btw, can anyone tell me the difference between this Streamer and a Stage 1 please as I cant see that there is any difference? Mine has a 2 band EQ and is active/passive.
Because I want it to be as versatlie as possible I will be installing switches to select between coils on each of the barts, should be fun and rewarding! As it is though, it is the best bass I have ever owned or played in terms of tone. It snarls like a rabid dog if needed but can also be tamed and shaped to whatever else you need it to be. I think this is THE bass for me!!!

I believe that is that is streamer stage 1.

Hey, beautiful pair of blondes you have!! Thanks for your comment. This one definitely says 'Streamer Bass' on the truss rod cover. It was my initial thought that it was made before Warwick had the Stage 2 so it was the "only" Streamer they had. But I thinkthat theory fally down because I seem to recall seeing both Stage 1 and Stage 2s from before 1990 when mine was born...

Truss rod covers are easy to swap ;)

If it's from 1990 I would be fairly sure it's an SS1.
I'm sure that's when they started using broadnecks. Any pre 90 Streamer 5 string I've seen before looks like an SSII with j shape pups.
You could ask in the Warwick forum, there are quite a few very experienced Streamer owners on there who've owned or own pretty much every type of Streamer made.

Nice work you've done on yours. Good job 👍🏻

Two of my current trio :)

Awesome, Kev. That's a fine a pair, indeed. That Streamer is pretty much my dream bass.

When you see the Thumb and Streamer side by side you can see how the placement of the top horn / 14th v 16th fret level, makes the Thumb hang out to the left a bit.
[/quote]

Yeahhh, that's the reason that I had to let go of my Thumb Bass, unfortunately. Just too tiring on my left forearm, with the 1st fret being a bus journey away. Otherwise, it was amazing. Best sounding bass I've ever owned. If I were only ever sitting down to play, I'd still have it.

The reach is real, but coming from Dingwalls and their 37" B strings, its nothing more for me.

The wood on it is just awesome:

The streamer is a beauty but needs some fretwork doing on it. Tempted to do something with the pickups and preamp too, but anxious about devaluing!

what a pair of beauts! how does that double p config sound? especially with the mirrored arrangement...

the back of that Thumb is very tasty. I take it the neck is Wenge with cherrywood streamers(forgive me if that isnt the correct term)?

Double P is very aggressive and mid forward and a good deal louder than most other Warwick's I've had. Perhaps lacking a touch in the bass department when the bridge is solo'd, not surprising given the position of the pup. Preamp a little limited, tempted to install a Darkglass Pre to have more control of the mids. Preamp doesn't seem to be the usual MEC 2 band, voiced differently to my ears.

Thumb neck is bubinga stringers :)

thats a stunner mate! Is that a ramp between the neck pup and fretboard? hard to tell from the angle...

thanks for the info Kev. Never understood the desire to install a 2band pre in a bass that controls only treb and bass. Surely treb and mids is much more useful for a bassist as there are plenty of options on your amp to increase bass if you ever need to.

btw, speaking of Streamers with 2 band pres... here is my late 80's Streamer with EMGs refinished from a black poly:
