That's a bit of a mean lowball price, particularly if the DVD is second hand (although, tbf a great choice of film). I was willing to stretch to £40 and then give it to Grangur to do £360 of refi work on it...

Would Warwick replace the 'Warwick Streamer' badge missing from the headstock?

I don't hate Spector. But probably won't ever touch anything made by Orange :D

PS out of interest if you hate Warwicks what were you doing buying this?!

Yes you can buy replacement truss rod covers from the Warwick shop. They sell them to everyone except TheGreek who they tell they have run out of stock or ship him the wrong one just to spite him

On a serious note, i have only ever had excellent customer service from Warwick. I once phoned them, i cant remeber why, but HPW himself answered the phone!

I just bought one for mine:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Warwick-STREAMER-Truss-Rod-Cover-4-THUMB-CORVETTE-STREAMER-KATANA-Bass/172076189505?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

How much are they from Warwick?

Just checked - 29.60 Euros - which is just under £26.00

How much are they from Warwick?

This was a genuine question - I had no idea how much they cost. When I checked I was surprised.

Though I've made no secret of my dislike of the Warwick organisation, and as a result that has my tainted my view of the gear, not everything I write is filled with contempt. The original post for the TRC was an attempt to give somebody looking for that part to pick one up at the same reasonable price I had.

I stand by what I've said. I accept that if I put my head above the parapet I risk being shot down. If this makes me an easy target for anybody wanting to fight Warwick's corner on their behalf then so be it. I won't be curtailing what I think.

@dyerseve Or the guy from Aus might be selling them at a reasonable price and Warwick is selling at a far too high price

@TheGreek I like Warwick always have I’ve never owned one tho (I simply can’t afford them) but you are well within your rights to voice your opinion without getting shot down and you’ve had bad dealings with them so it seems justified to me

I know this is basically a Warwick appreciation thread but surely people can voice their opinion as if everyone liked the same things life would be boring

Im not shooting anyone down im offering a different point of view from someone who doesn't have an axe to grind against Warwick.  My post in reply to TheGreek was sarcastic and i thought that should have been obvious as i did start the second para with "on a serious note". If I offended anyone then I apologise.

As for the Aus guy selling them at a more realistic price, well sorry but Warwick have these manufactured for them so the only way the guy can buy them is through Warwick or a Warwick distributor.

The only distributor I've ever seen sell cheaper than Warwick is Thomann and they don't sell these. Now considering the other Warwick items the same seller is selling are both more expensive than buying from either Warwick and Thomann I will stick with my initial opinion...

By all means have an opinion, but perhaps reserve it for a thread other than the Warwick one in the gear porn section? As you’ve got your Streamer up for sale, a cynic might think you only posted to draw attention to it elsewhere...

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a broad neck Thumb NT. My Streamer SI 5 is broadneck and I would love to have a Thumb NT to match. My current Thumb NT has the std spacing and it can be tricky switching between them at times...

No standard NT BN model for sure, just the BO.  Custom shop would do it, and I'm sure they must have been made in the past...

Oh ok thanks mate. Just thought as the Streamers prior to 92(?) were all broadneck thought this may have been the case with some thumbs at some stage...

Hmm, not into bolt ons really and will never be able to afford a custom shop so will just have to try and get used to the difference.

thanks

Happy to be corrected but I don't think Warwick have ever produced a batch of BN NT thumb 5s at any point.  Single Cut version does though?

Lovely figuring on that bubinga body! Got me a Thumb 5er. The tone is just something else and more than makes up for any ergonomic deficiencies

Beautiful! Not seen one of these before, lovely figuring! Is that pup a split coil?

Thanks man! Aye, they are relatively rare. Made from the end of 1996 until 2000. This is from the first year of production, when they used wenge (as opposed to ovankol) for the necks. It’s not a split coil pickup, no. it’s actually two separate J pickups in the same housing, with a dummy coil between, for noise cancelling when soloing either pickup. So a bit more versatile than it first appears. The pickup position rests in the ‘Stingray’ sweet-spot though. That was the point in the Pro M. It’s like a hybrid between a Streamer and a MM Stingray.

thanks for the info. Sorry that is what I meant by split coil - a pup you can switch between coils like I could on my Infinity SN TCS when I had it. I assume the stacked EQ pot has a push pull top half to switch between coils?

So a predecessor to the Jazzman then? Cool. I had wondered if the pickup was the original. Thanks for the info.

Welcome back.
