Yeah, it's the 2021 Ltd Teambuilt Streamer LX with a black korina body and Pau ferro fretboard. It was my number one bass for an age and sounds fantastic. The low B is superb and I love the Bartolini soapbar pickups. Quote
tauzero Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 I'm a great fan of natural basses (the paint doesn't get chipped) but that Thumb in the middle looks lovely. I think the pickups being set so close to the bridge, unlike the 4-strings, gives a big expanse of colour which really works well. Quote

I was mildly obsessed by that bass for ages before taking the plunge. It’s the flip-flop finish so it’s a bit mad. Here are some photos from when I got it: 5 Quote
Risk101 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Yep - that is “mad” but it’s very nice! 1 Quote
Dazed Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 (edited) I’ve never seen one of those fretboard protectors before. Edited August 29, 2023 by Dazed Fast brain slow fingers Quote

For GPS basses, the first one that I purchased from a particular dealer happened to come with one (thereby raising my expectations!). I ordered a second GPS bass from Warwick via that same dealer, and when it arrived without the fretboard protector I became a bit grumpy(!). The dealer then threw one in for 'free' post-delivery, but did explain to me that they only come by default with the Masterbuilt series. A few used Warwicks (GPS, ChromeTone,...) that I've purchased over the years did not have the protectors, so I ordered some directly from Warwick here: https://shop.warwick.de/en/parts-for-instruments/warwick-spare-parts/tools-care/21203/rockcare-fret-protectors-warwick I think Thomann also sells them... 1 Quote

These are all Teambuilt/GPS from Andertons or Bass Direct and each of the three came with one, although one was missing the wax in the new car-style pack. Quote
NickA Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Had to look these fretboard protectors thingies up. I'd thought the bass was fretless. 😁. So it's just to protect strings and frets from hitting eachother during transit? Only a few quid, but I guess a piece of stiff card would do the trick. Not that I've ever felt the need. https://www.thomann.de/gb/rockcare_framus_fret_protector_6.htm Quote

Yes, at a quick glance the fretboard protector makes it look fretless! When I showed for a band audition a few years back, I started unpacking stuff and one of the band members said, "Ohh... you play fretless!" [Me: "Ummm... sorry, no."] Quote
dub_junkie Posted August 30, 2023 Posted August 30, 2023 Got this a week ago and played nothing else since. What a bass!! 11 Quote

I like the ebony board and the ovangkol through neck on this one. The profile on the neck reminds me of the Dirty Blonde I had. Bit bigger in the hand but no issues with that. Now need to find a Streamer Stage 1 five string in coloured oil finish with gold hardware to pair it with😍 1 Quote
Dazed Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 Well it’s a Streamer 5 string with an ebony board, everything else can be changed 😄💵 3 Quote

tvickey Posted August 31, 2023 Posted August 31, 2023 This just arrived form Pau, France 🇫🇷 today. 2016 NT5 complete with fretboard protector. 😂 I'm charging it up now... then will give it a go and afterwards change the strings. Previous owner says it has a 135 low-B... that seems like a piece of rope to me! 6 Quote

Risk101 Posted September 27, 2023 Posted September 27, 2023 Elixir Nanoweb for me - pricey but they last for ages and tension has always seemed ok for me. Tapered is handy for Warwick’s as the fat ones sometimes don’t fit through the bridge anchor without filing the bridge or squashing the string with pliers 😂 2 Quote

On the fretless streamer I just bought a new bridge assembly and the slot fit fine, but more recently I got a thumb and wanted to do the same, but the bridge didn't have the width (missus)... so I just filed the existing one back a little, knowing I had a spare worst-case. I can't quite work out why there isn't consistency. maybe the thumb bridge tailpiece was NOS... Quote
