Cat Burrito
Just wondering about different companies offering MIJ Fenders. I'm after a 62RI P-bass. There are a couple on the forum that I'm interested in (one especially) but if they don't happen for me I've been checking out other stockists. What are these guys like? http://www.mijfenders.com/frmframe.htm I emailed them - no reply. Phoned him & he said he'd get back within 24hrs and then didn't. He sounded helpful & like he knew his stuff BUT did state the prices on the web were "an older page"? What are other people's experiences like? If anyone knows any good stockists of 62RI MIJ basses, I'd love to know about it. Cheers, BB
acidbass
That site is a pain to use! I'd recommend the Guitar Emporium, I've been in touch with them in the past regarding MIJ basses and they've been very helpful. Buzz
+1 on Malcom at Guitar Emporium, top service. There's also a couple of second hand dealers to check out, http://www.fareastguitars.co.uk/ spring to mind as the main one, but you'll have to email him to see what's coming in on his next delivery and reserve it before it goes on the site otherwise it'll be gone sharpish

I don't think he keeps stock any more though, just imports to order, but obviously you'll have to talk to Malcolm. Nice guy to deal with. Cat Burrito
Thanks guys... still never got that promised call from MIJFenders!?! Hmmmn! Nice guy on the phone but if you say you are going to call, you call - or put in a courtesy message if something comes up. Very poor customer service.... well I look unlikely to be a customer now! Guitar Emporium may be worth an investigation if I don't come up trumps with the guys on this site. Cheers If anyone else has any thoughts on companies offering MIJ Fenders, I'd love it for you to share. Ta
LeftyJ
Be sure to contact Ken at www.guitarshogun.com too. Very friendly guy, unlike Guitar Emporium he trades directly from Japan. Guitar Emporium can quote you a price including all relevant import duties and taxes whereas with Guitar Shogun you won't know exactly how much you'll have to pay until the bass has actually crossed the border, but he is a very friendly guy, responds promptly to questions and ships lightningfast. People I know who bought from him had their bass delivered within 5 days after buying. Guitar Emporium will wait until Malcolm can place an order of about 10 instruments before the bass will actually be ordered in Japan, so he won't be able to get it to you as fast. But both are excellent companies. I've never heard of MIJFenders.com but I will check them out.
boabskiboab
I've had exaclty the same experience with MIJFenders, enquired about a 75RI, he told me he would get a price for me and phone me back..... i'm still waiting.
