Haven't seen these before - anyone have any experience of them? Are they really like an upright?

Played slung round yer neck like a normal bass. Maybe the guy's confusing it with this...the Ampeg Bass Baby from 1961 - 62, IIRC

That's expensive. They're $699 in the US.

And they don't have much in common with the Ampeg they're based on except the shape.

Thanks for those replies - I'm not after one particularly, just doing a daily search for fretless on ebay (as that is something I am looking for) and hadn't seen one before.

I must admit I quite fancied one until I'd tried both the Eastwood and the more authentic Bruce Johnson take on the Ampeg Scroll bass, which is a far superior instrument in every way and more than justifies the fact that it cost 4-5 times as much as the Eastwood version.
