JohnR Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 (edited) I am selling this as I haven't really played it much since buying it. I have been retired from playing with bands for over 10 years now and this was a mid-life crisis purchase. I just can't tear myself away from my Wal which I love. I bought it around 18 months ago through a contact I made on the old bulletin board but an impending house move is forcing me to rationalise my kit. Details:

Left Handed Warwick Thumb 6 String
Custom Shop Built 15th February 2005
AAA Flamed Maple top grain
Flamed Maple neck
French Violet Stain
Fretted Ebony Fingerboard
Gold Hardware
MEC 3-Way active HB/HB
Comes with case, straplocks, manual and custom shop certificate of authenticity. I would accept £800. I am based in Glasgow and would prefer collection if possible. Veils Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Woah dude! Thats a sexy thumb! Shame its inside out though
Veils Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I wonder how long it would take me to learn to play inside out........
JohnR Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 Spare a thought for us poor left hookers who have to watch all these wonderful righty basses come up for offer every day. I would love to have a Fender JP signature Jazz but they aren't available left-handed. I can always dream of getting the Fender custom shop to do one for me though. I did once seriously consider relearning to play right handed but life is just too short for that. Cheers John
spacecowboy Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 man, oh man. that is one smoking, smoking thumb bass.....................so cheap, so beautiful, why oh why is it a left hander......... best of luck selling her, although any lefty with any sense will snap this up immediately!
JohnR Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007
What a price!
I got the bass for a pretty reasonable price and I don't want to attempt to profiteer from my fellow bass players. No doubt I could have asked for a bit more if it was right handed as there would have been a larger market for it. It is now provisionally sold and I have someone coming to look it over. Cheers John
lemoley Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 my god that is gorgeous, if i had that sort of money i would be all over that good luck selling it man
dirtystatic Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Fantastic looking bass - this is gonna be a great buy for some lucky southpaw Best of luck with the sale mate
lemoley Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 i hope you know that picture is now my desktop background lol
whynot Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007
bet that neck is divine to play on.
Sure is. I had a chance to pick it up before passing John's number to the original seller. Would have had it myself if it were a 5 string.
LeftySteve Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Could someone please buy this bass...... I am not going to be able to resist it much longer!! Steve
JohnR Posted September 6, 2007 Author Posted September 6, 2007 I have someone coming over on Saturday to look at it and he seems to have his heart set on it. I promise to keep you posted. Funnily enough, after years of buying moderately high-end basses, I suddenly find myself lusting after a nice Jazz or Precision. It must be something to do with old age.
Bassmonster Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 Folks have no fear this will hopefully soon be part of my gear
BigBassBob Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 i'm gonna say wat's already been said, but that is a GORGEOUS bass and an even nicer price for it! I assure you, if I wasn't right handed and could perhaps make fast money from medical testing, this bass would be mine in a second Good luck with the sale mate!
JohnR Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 Thanks for all the goodwill guys. I can put you all out of your misery now as the bass has just been sold. I hope the new owner enjoys it. Cheers John
