They've been talking about re-issuing both the 500/5 and the 500/7 for years but there have never been any firm plans. The 500/1 Violins still sell reasonably well, though they now have obvious competition 'internally' from the Icon and Contemporary models, but I suspect that sales of the 500/2 Club basses have been a disappointment. Given the list price for both the 500/1 and the 500/2, any re-issue of the 500/5 or 500/7 is not going to come in at anything below £1000, especially with the current exchange rate. If by "sensible" you mean cheap, then you'll be waiting at least several years for Hofner to bring out a CT version. On current form that might be priced at about £350. Quote
