Toasted
Back on basstalk/bassworld there was a member who spent ages putting together an all black Rickenbacker (body, scratchplate, headstock logo etc). Are they still a member? Anyone know what I'm talking about? Cheeaaars!
bythesea
Well there's this one - is that it?
odub
If Darth Vader played bass, he'd play that
Toasted
That's not exactly the one I was talking about, but very similar indeed. What a beaut! Who owns this?

Toasted
They're iconic looking instruments. I'd like to own one. I remember a solid red one with black hardware too - that looked great. Peter - yours is iconic looking and iconic priced aswell (with good reason). I'm looking forward to playing it in October EDIT: Your sig says you have two, one is a Chris Squier signature - what's the other? GreeneKing
The other is the one on eBay at the moment, a 4001 C64S, the much modified McCartney bass with a reversed headstock, smaller reshaped body, zero fret, dot markers and single mono jack. It's basically a new bass that I bought as an investment and now need to part with. Unashamed plug: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=220443316730 I prefer the CS if only because of the colour which is amazing. It's only a colour I know but the whole basses oozes something because of it

Looks very pretty! And if that's not black enough for you, you could always look for a 4003 Shadow or a 4003 Black Trim in Jetglo: http://www.rickbeat.com/modelslibrary/4003.../4003shadow.htm http://www.rickbeat.com/modelslibrary/4003btjg/4003btjg.htm Or even more black, the 4003S/SPC Blackstar that even had the fingerboard painted black: http://www.rickbeat.com/modelslibrary/4003...pcblackstar.htm Similarly, there also used to be a very white one, the 4003SPC Tuxedo. Marky L
I missed out on that black Ric posted at the start of the thread. I thought I had the deal, but alas it went to another home. I very much want want like that as it's going to be the closest I will ever get to my long term desire - The Blackstar. And to think I missed one of those a number of years back too... "Regrets.. I've had a few.." well, bloody loads actually!

completecontrol
I've got a Jetglo on order as we speak. I know where to get the black scratchplate from but has anyone any ideas as to where to get the black headstock logo. Ive trawled many places an am struggling with getting a proper RIC version. Please help.
Tait
i think you can send the original back to RIC and theyll send you a black one, im not 100% though.
luckman67
If you go onto the RRF forum there is a thread there, about owners wanting a black TRC.
bassmachine2112
hiho,to get a black one you have to return at least half of your original one to rickenbacker. I would recomend a hipshot bridge, east to fit ,makes adjustments easy and looks good as well. soundwise I think it is an improvement, makes palm muting comforable without those grub screws tearing your palms off.
