ahpook Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 (edited) i jam with some friends who play techno and breakbeat stuff and some of the tunes are based around flattened fifths (??)...(AD#...DG#...etc) and it always confuses me as to what scales to mooch around in. i'm no theory expert, so what kind of scales would you use to include those notes ? any advice would be appreciated. Mikey D Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 It depends. But Lydian or Locrian for modes of hte major scale. The Diminshed scales. Altered scale. A multitude of pentatonic scales. It really does depend on a few things. Quote
Sibob Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 (edited) Try Locrian and Lydian flat-seven scales, obviously depending on the quality of the chords they're playing, but they're two modes that have that interval. Think "Diminished" lol Si Edited September 4, 2007 by Sibob Quote
