Buzz Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Do a search on the forums for the inital SX threads and the order fest that was had last year. I think I remember reading about a place in Ireland that stocks the decent ones, iirc they weren't branded SX, but we'd confirmed they were the same guitars from the same Asian factory. I think. It's a bit hazy. Quote

mrjim Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Their stock is better than nothing, but i emailed them to ask if they could source other SX basses (Would love the '75 jazz) but they said they only have the green '62 etc that are on their site. If enough people were to email, maybe they would change their mind... Quote

dannybuoy Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 (edited) Jim Deacon basses are the same as SX: http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&q=jim+deacon+bass You can get the '62 Precision for £109 delivered from Hartnoll Guitars! I think the Jim Deacon FPB2 is the same as the SX FPB62 and has the 20 fret neck, while the BG models are the supposedly shoddier ones with a 21 fret neck. Edited July 3, 2009 by dannybuoy Quote

Jamesemt Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Why not import???? The only difference is that you'll get a £20 customs bill through the post!! Quote
dannybuoy Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Those unbranded ones look pretty good actually, especially the butterscotch P! Quote

I've no idea where SX basses are sourced from, and in fact I'd be very surprised if they all came from the same factory anyway. Finding a good cheap copy is pot luck, and it was ever thus. Jon. Quote
luckman67 Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 There is an SX Jazz style bass at HW Audio here in Bolton,as they already have Jim Deacon basses it looks like they can get the SX range as well. Quote

Regards SX origin, all mine come with a made in china sticker and I believe SXs are made in the team international group of factories Quote

They do however look might fine for the price! Quote
