DanOwens Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Hey guys, The 'Holy Trinity' was mentioned in the cover band thread and I was about to add mine but I wondered... 'How many variations can there be?' Mine? Octave Fuzz Filter Sick synth madness!! What's yours? Dan Quote
ezbass Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Up until recently it was Chorus, Octave & Compressor. A change of amp lost me the octave (I'll be replacing with a pedal soon though) and I just stopped using the compressor. I've also got an MXR M88 dist/DI box, but that's only there for amp failure these days, I think I might replace that with a Sadowsky preamp/DI, but man they are not cheap. Quote
Happy Jack Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 My Holy Trinity just caught the last train for the coast ... Quote
warwickhunt Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Octaver (Boss) - Chorus (Boss) - Phaser (EHM Small Stone 'original') I also now have an EBS Compressor but I'm not sure that I'd class it as an effect and it hasn't earned a place on my pedal board as yet. ase_one23 Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 hmmm jekyll & hyde OD, akai headrush, holy grail plus i guess that's all i really need, other things are just for colour. Quote
BigRedX Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Chorus, MIDI controlled filter, MIDI sync'd delay. Quote
iamapirate Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Tuner (ok, it's not an effect - but it does help my sound!!) --------- Synth (EHX BMS) Overdrive Wah. and all 3 at the same time!! Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009

cheapo behringer limiter pedal
cheapo behringer BDI21 preamp pedal on the mustang / ADI21 on the NS CR5M
The magic VLE & VPF controls on the LMII
But the tone really comes from the fingers. Quote
leonshelley01 Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 EHX Bass Big Muff Dunlop 105q Wah EHX LPB-1 (just to boost for solos) Quote
Finbar Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Cream Pie Memory Man (kills a few birds with one stone) Digitech Whammy There's stuff like a tuner, but that's not the same thing. I could tune up with a non-pedal tuner before playing if I had to. Quote
dannybuoy Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Bass BB -> VT Bass is my core sound, if I had to pick a 3rd it would depend on the genre, either an MXR Carbon Copy for post-rock or the Option 5 Destination Rotation Single rotating leslie speaker sim for blues / classic rock, or a Supercollider fuzz for heavy stuff! Quote
Happy Jack Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Does the Option 5 actually work well with bass? I thought it was a guitar effect that could also work with keyboards. Quote
cheddatom Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009
Compressor, OD, Wah.
I would go for this, but if I could choose 3 specific pedals... XP-100 whammy/wah LMB3 limiter a dirt pedal! I can't decide which one. I most like the sound of guitar pedals in a blend loop, so I can't put my usual ones! Quote
DanOwens Posted July 6, 2009 Author Posted July 6, 2009
Chorus, MIDI controlled filter, MIDI sync'd delay.
Which MIDI filter and delay exactly? I love some of these replies. Phasers? Wahs? We really are all very different!! Dan Quote
ase_one23 Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 i love that 2 people have a whammy as an essential cant-do-without-it pedal. much awesomeness! Quote
EskimoBassist Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 This thread is almost impossible to reply to! It would have to be: Fuzz Overdrive Octaver. Actually no! It would be: MXR M80 DI DUNLOP 105Q Wah Korg AX3000B Multi  Quote

I'm liking the fact that nearly everyone likes a bit of dirt!! Dan Quote
WarPig Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 (edited) Ill name mine now: Presonus Comp Bogdan Helter Skelter OD  535q Edited July 7, 2009 by WarPig Quote
DanOwens Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 No, Tom, YOU can't have enough dirt. Most of us are happy with a handful of soil but you, sir, need a Mexico-based land-grab company. Dan Quote
cheddatom Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 That IS a lot of dirt. Thanks for the tip, I am making my first purchase as I type. Quote
