JimBobTTD
I have an older version of the SR705 and I love it. I haven't played a Prestige, so I can't answer that part, but I say that the hype about Ibanez is true. They don't get much respect, though... Three out of my four basses are Ibanez, so I'm perhaps not the most impartial chap to ask.
Superbass
hi, i have an sr700 and its the best bass i have ever owned or played. I like bases which aren't too big or heavy and have fast necks and this is a treat. I have owned it for nearly a year and have no complaints. aldude
I have 2 SR Prestiges.... like the guy above, also the best basses I've ever owned. I think that the consensus from owners seems to be for the money, they are great value and probably one of the best basses you can get for the money. They do a wide range of values though so perhaps their reputation is diminished because of that - undeservedly IMO... Also I don't know if this is the same for all the range but my SR Prestiges are very thin/narrow necked, and small bodied (feels like that anyway), so it might not suit everybody, but it certainly suits me. Rayman
Blimey, how to resurrect a two year old thread in one post. However, yes I've been an Ibanez fan for year. I've had a few, more recently a K5 which was fabulous, and based on an SR700 I think? I've also just acquired an SR505 which is absolutely cracking. Very easy to play, light, comfy, powerful and a big range of tones at a bargain price, especially used. What more could you want?
