Metalmoore Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 I am getting a bass body made for me but unsure where the pups should be. Was thinking of getting the bridge pup in the MM "sweetspot" but dunno about the neck pup. Going to be using a pair of Gems from wizard pickups. Any suggestions? Quote

Al Heeley Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 It takes a lot to beat the Jazz bass versatility of tone, for me that would be the benchmark for 2 x single coil pickup placements. I've tried with JB pups a little nearer the neck on one of my builds but if you're not careful the tone gets too thick and woolly. Quote
