6h5g Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 (edited) About ten minutes ago I turned the amp on and, as usual, the light in the input level dial turned on and the needle moved when I played, however no sound was coming out of the speaker. The output was at a decent level, and I checked the connection from head to speaker on the back of the amp but that was fine. What could it be? Thanks Edited July 7, 2009 by 6h5g Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Blown fuse, inside, on a board near the speaker outs, probably a big 5 amp glass one. Quote
steelman Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I have one of these amps. I've used it on a few gigs of various sizes. Are you using it for gigs or practice only - just curious to know your opinions. C Quote

Mr. Foxen Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Never gigged my one, was totally fine for cheesy blues jams, ran it on top of another 1x15, would have been giggable, not for Doom though. Quote
steelman Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Was just wondering... Mines superb in rehearsals, great sound - just how I want it, plenty loud enough. I've done a few gigs with it, the last in a large vennue ( 250/300 seater) with a 2X10 extension cab and through a (moderate) PA. We're unlikely to do anything as big in the near future. Although plenty loud enough in sound check, it got lost in the background at times during the gig and we had to really ramp up the PA at half time. In saying that I was only at 2/3 max on the amp. I don't think it was the volume but couldn't cut through the rest of the band. I've had a compressor suggested but was wondering if others had a similar problem. C Quote

C[/quote] i think i know what you mean but just whacking up the mid and high mid usually gets rid of the problem Quote
