I made the buying decision to acquire this beautiful six string some months a go but in that time I’ve decided to keep to fretted five-strings for live work.

I don’t do enough studio work, where this bass would probably be at its finest. I do need a fretless for some songs in the set, but am finding that using my fretless four-string a bit odd, so I’m looking to trade this for a quality fretless five or six.

There’s a tiny ding on the front above the neck pick-up, but it’s not lost any varnish or paintwork. I have no hard case for it, though I’m on the look out for a used one.

Here’s a previous review of the actual bass itself. http://www.talkbass.com/reviews/showproduc...uct/1008/cat/13

Bit more info:

I had this given a set-up by Jim Fleeting. Strings on it are DR Hi Beams.

The sound range is vast. This clip (thank you Molan) shows the maker on one of his Level 5's but it is a good demo of how the range is wide.

PS. A couple of very interesting offers, so far, but keep 'em coming!

Would you consider selling it? Perhaps it would be easier for you and make more people happy? Like me? :)

Er ...yes, I guess I could sell it!

Interestingly, a couple of the offers received so far are from folk with nice basses that were hitherto not on the market, so the trading option does have its benefits. Curiously, no 5-string fretless offered yet.

I am seriously considering ALL offers so far, and I hope folk can just be a little patient with me, as I check out the specs and the luthiers concerned. I've learned a lot already!

Thanks.

I'm now sorted for a fretless sixer, so this has turned in to a sale only thread. I'm looking for around £1050, and I'll include a hard case for the benefit of posting.

About the only thing I'm GAS'ing for is a five string electro-acoustic, so will P/EX in the unlikely event of you having one to trade.

...and now that GAS has moved on to a 5 string P-Bass - funny how things change eh?

Sorry, the link to the review, showing the specs, seems to be broken. I'll try and fix this. In the meantime, it is 35" and 19mm.
