dunetune_jazz Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 (edited) I saw Avi last year and we had a good chat and the guy is simply amazing and humble. He was playing with the Avishai Cohen Trio. If you have a desire to get into stand-up bass, say no more unless your Ray Brown. We got a talking and I asked him about some of the bass players today and he was very modest....loves Mr Wootens stuff. Avi is truely a great bass champion. I would highly recommend anyone going to see him when he is back over here. Using the search feature, it's strange to see how little love there is for Avishai Cohen, one of the true bass geniuses IMO. In a way, it's my personal version of easy listening... there's nothing "easy listening" about simple and boring, for me at least. Quote
