Kaiu
Hey, It's my brother's 21st Birthday on the 8th of August and we are looking for a covers band. I am looking for a band that plays mainly rock covers, has an edge, whether it be an image or style. Most of the audience will be around 18 - 25 years old. The band we wanted (http://www.mullit.co.uk/) were busy and couldn't do it. They played stuff from Rage Against the Machine, Green Day, Kaiser Chiefs, Video Killed the Radio Star (can't remember the artist!) and some older classics. They were all lively, young and a bit eccentric, and have spent the last 7 years gigging every night in a ski resort so they are good! We are basically looking for something similar. Something really special that will get peoples attention and have a great stage presence, and have enough chops to impress the metal heads around! I'm open to all options though. I saw a band in LA called the Spazmatics (http://www.myspace.com/thespazmatics) who were the funniest guys on stage. So anyone with a difference is good! Me and my brother play for a band called Elliot Minor (www.myspace.com/elliotminor) so we can help with backline, PA and staging if necessary. Thanks, Ed Edited July 16, 2009 by Kaiu
acidbass
Elliot Minor! I heard you guys play in Belfast a couple of weeks ago, was walking past the venue on the way home from work and caught about half a song, sounded good mate
Adrenochrome
Ed, I'd recommend Shameless ( www.myspace.com/shamelessyorkshire ), Scooby ( www.myspace.com/scoobyrockuk ) or Styckleback ( www.styckleback.co.uk ) . These bands are all really lively and localish. Dunno if any are free but they're all decent bands. Jon

That was probably one of the most sweaty gigs I've done. It's a cool venue though, and the crowd were really up for it. Styckleback look energetic though, the photo's from 'bootfest' are pretty cool and their choice of songs are impressive Keep em coming! Adrenochrome
Shame but the better covers bands will be booking well into next year by now - it does show that we've not recommended dross though! Jon

Veils
I've dropped you a PM as well, but seriously I might be able to help you out here.......my band have done covers stuff before but with a different singer, who along with our drummer already lives in York and I reckon there is a good chance you know them both. If the crowd is 18-25 and potentially containing metal eds I would reckon there is a fair chance they will have seen some of us playing before and we know how to put on a good show
