TheGreek
I've just been through this thread and I'm shocked how many of the luthiers/companies featured have gone out of business. Shame really as not everybody wants to play a Fender or one of it's clones. Seems that being different isn't everything it's cracked up to be... If anybody has any info on the jigsaw finish Bas Extravaganzas can you PM me.. Edited November 26, 2016 by TheGreek

BassApprentice
Here's todays selection. More Germans, this time LeFay And a Piccolo Bass Although the fretless steel fingerboard on the Remington Steele seems to be referencing Vigier, overall to me these basses have a lot in common with Basslab, almost as though they are the more conventional wooden versions. It's the sculpted body shapes and pickup and electronic choices that makes me think that way. My German isn't good enough to get all the info, so if anyone knows any more let me know. However there seem to be too many design features in common for it to be simply co-incidence. Still a nice range of eclectic designs.
Huh, I was just browsing through this thread and could swear I've seen that bass recently.... I have! The Maruszczyk Paddock Headless looks remarkably similar http://www.instagram...aruszczykturkey Wonder if an ex-Remington employee was involved at all.... Happy Jack
Gosh, I remember when this was my favourite Topic on Basschat. Of course, I was much younger then, and this were all fields round 'ere. Genuinely delighted to see it re-surface.

BigRedX
Except it's a guitar not a bass. There were 3 basses made in the original run of 60 instruments. However it looks as though Gittler are making basses again with both fretted and fretless models:
