Bass_Junkie
well the small clone is a little noisy for some people, if you like the sound but dont like the noise go for the EHX clone theory, aparantly its silent.

If it's hissing at the same time as you playing, you would need some kind of advanced noise reduction dealy, and as far as I know, that doesn't exist in pedal form. cheddatom
Yeh, I think swapping it is going to be the best bet. If your set up is noisless without it, you shouldn't have to buy a noisegate. I have a noisegate as my set-up has always been noisy due to high gain and cheap pedals etc.
Bass_Junkie
yeah, swap it, its much less hastle, plus you get the added bonuses that the clone theory has to offer.

The bet thing you could do is to run them through your effects loop if you have one. That's what i do with mine, just the effect and no hiss. ahpook
hmm...i reckon you should exchange it if you can... i got a small clone recently and i love it...no hiss. edit: although - about the pop...i do get a click the first time i turn it on, but not after that...if it starts to annoy me i'm opening it up and seeing if a pull-down resistor helps.
